Plenty of choice on holiday with hotels in Tenerife

    By RomanticHeart | December 11, 2009

Located in the Atlantic off the coast of Africa, the Canary Islands are home to the beautiful isle of Tenerife. The beauty starts at the heart of the island with Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and third largest volcano in the world, and then extends out through the forests to the stunning coastlines. A favourable sub-tropical climate allows Tenerife to offer a full range of exotic flora and fauna. The island has plenty to keep tourists comfortable in the shape of its many hotels, bars and restaurants as well as activities suitable for all ages.

When you’ve decided on Tenerife as your next island paradise destination, the next step is to find accommodation. You can choose between hotels of all levels and price ranges, hostels, apartments, and cottages. The island has everything from 5-star luxury resorts to smaller hotels with fewer amenities for those vacationing on a tighter budget – however, almost all of the hotels in Tenerife have a swimming pool and restaurant, plus telephones and televisions in each room, as well as air-conditioning.

A number of the hotels in Tenerife have their own luxury spas onsite, offering more to help you relax on your holiday than just beaches and ocean alone.  The Abama Golf and Spa is a good example. Describing itself as a “paradise of sensations”, this is a luxury 5 star resort. It is located on the west coast, in Guia de Isora. There are several room and suite options, including rooms with balconies in the Citadel or suites with their own private terraces in the Villa. The Abama is located at the top of a cliff with stunning views of the Atlantic. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s own secluded beach.

There is a group of luxury hotels in Tenerife located on the beach at Playa del Camison, which has been referred to as an “oasis of sophistication”. The names of these hotels – from Sir Anthony Palace and Cleopatra Palace to the Mediterranean Palace – exude luxury and class.

This particular collection of hotels may fall outside the average budget for a holiday, but happily there are plenty of more affordable options to choose from. The Tamaimo Tropical, for example, is an aparthotel with fully equipped kitchens, 2 pools for adults and two for the kids, an onsite buffet restaurant, and prices that are likely to be more family-friendly. There are plenty of similar hotels in Tenerife to this one, so whatever your situation, you won’t go short of options.
